Each project below is a showcase of work developed over 13 weeks as part of my studies toward a Master's Degree in Creative Industries. These pieces explore different elements of songwriting and music composition techniques.
Projects
The Musical Tao uses a graphic score of sacred geometry to form a Yin Yang. These pieces explore improvisation and the development of freedom in playing.
Inside The Vacuum explores form, genre and formula. Using genre specific formula to blend genres at a set BPM.
Out Of Place explores simple folk music forms mixed with jazz-like chromatic progressions and rock and electronic music techniques in production.
Following A Dream is a typical folk song with hopeful lyrical content. It is simplistic and has a catchy sing-a-long nostalgia.
Fixation is an EDM track that explores formula and heavily uses effects to achieve a full sound. It consists of only 4 main elements.
Photographs explores folk form and a blend of live instrumentation mixed with computer manipulation. Vocal storytelling plays a large role in this piece.
